Background:
Electra Reece was born in Boston, Massachusetts in 2343. Her parents were professors in a nearby university. When Electra was 4, they were killed in a shuttle accident. Her fathe's parents, both retired professors themselves raised her. Her mother's parents were both Starfleet officers, posted on ships. Her grandparents were fairly controlled and undemonstrative people. They saw to it that she got an education, but they gave very little love. When she was 8, she began an early growth spurt and she towered over her peers. She was greatly teased and often got into fights due to her height. She always worried that people were making fun of her, so she rarely had any friends. She turned herself inward and concentrated on her studies. She taught herself the violin and the guitar and expressed her creativity in writing songs (lyrics and music).

Electra loved school, where there were clear expectations. She got three degrees in medicine (which she doesn't like because of all the interactions with people), engineering, and science. She spent two years after her final graduation in a teaching position at Yale University but found that she was very uncomfortable teaching. Her maternal grandparents encouraged her to go to Starfleet Academy, hoping that the comradeship would help her. She made a few friends, like her floor mates (who taught her poker and other card games and gave her a nickname), in the Academy but they were all posted to different ships. She was an operations officer on Starbase 175 in deep space before being posted to the USS Galaxy.

By mid 2377, Electra had proven herself as a valuable Starfleet Officer to her peers and earned her first Starfleet promotion to Lieutenant junior grade while serving on board the USS Galaxy. At the end of that same year, Electra was assigned as the Galaxy's Chief Operations Officer and promoted to full Lieutenant.

Personality profile:
Electra is very, very bright. She has a high level of learning. She can memorize things quickly and remember them for years, even if they never come up. She does not have a photographic memory but it is close. She does very well when she knows what she needs to do. She is excellent at following orders and she has learned how to give them to others in order to accomplish a task, but she is most comfortable working on her own. Mentally she is advanced.

On the other hand, Electra is VERY shy. She has a lot of trouble making friends and is extremely self-conscious about her height. She has a temper but never loses it, except when she feels overly teased. She is very kind and will often do things for people anonymously. When she does make friends she is intensely loyal and will stick by them, no matter what. She wants to make friends; she just hates putting herself forward.

Special notes:
Electra has a very intense claustrophobia, most intense when spending time on a shuttle (due to her parents' deaths) and when overly long in a turbolift or Jeffries tube.
