Miran was born on Bajor but while she was still a baby, her family was taken off Bajor and interned at Hutet Labor Camp on Cardassia IV. When she was six, she was forced to witness the execution of her parents. Her oldest brother was killed in an escape attempt. Her other two brothers and a sister died of Orkitt's disease. Miran never made friends for fear of losing them. With Bajor regaining their independence she had a chance to attend Starfleet Academy, which she did as soon as she could, never going back to Bajor. At the academy, she met a man that brought her out of her reclusiveness. Robert Stephin showed her life could be happy. His family took her in as one of their own, which wasn't hard to do considering he had eleven siblings. They were engaged to marry upon her graduation from Starfleet. She was going to try to get assigned to serve with him. It was not long after he graduated and assigned a ship, that the ship went missing and everyone presumed dead.
Miran was crushed. She withdrew back into her shell. She did manage to graduate with High flight honors but not well in the class.
Upon graduation, somehow, Ensign Ti was assigned to the USS Galaxy as Chief Helmsman. There she met one Ensign Deiran Casey, who wouldn't let her stay in the past. He helped to be happy again. She also made friends with a part Klingon security officer and a certain Blue Science officer.
Her exemplary performance quickly earned her a promotion to Lieutenant jg., then to full Lieutenant in the same year. Not long after, she married Deiran Casey in a wedding performed by Captain Price. According to her wish, the ceremony was held among the apple blossoms of Tunnel Hill, Illinois, albiet on the Holodeck of the Galaxy.
Miran excelled as Chief Helmsman on board the Galaxy. After a strange occurance when she returned to Bajor, she found out she was pregnant. Just before she took a maternity leave of absence, she was again promoted to Lieutenant Commander.
Miran never returned to active duty. In early 2374, she resigned her commision to live on board the USS Galaxy as a civilian, raising her daughter, Lara, and taking care of Deiran.
In late 2374, partially sparked by a domestic problem with her husband, Miran asked to be placed back onto active duty as a Shuttle Operations Officer aboard the USS Galaxy.
There were complications in her second pregnancy early in 2375 in which their son died a few hours after a Caesarian delivery. Both she and Deiran had wanted this child, a son that they named Dalane. It was a hard time with severe depression. With Dee's help, she started to heal. It wasn't long however, that she found herself pregnant again which scared her more then anything. The doctors on the Galaxy decided to send her to Earth where they had the facilities in case something happened.
Miran gave birth five months later to perfectly health twins, Jade and Alexander. Miran however once again had complications and a hysterectomy had to be performed to stop the bleeding. After recovering, Miran was on her way to rejoin her husband on the Galaxy when there was a transporter accident. A woman created from the DNA of three women, one of which was Miran, materialized on the Galaxy's transporter padd while Miran was transported to a lower level of the space station. It caused temporary neuroligical damage leaving her without the memory of the Galaxy. She returned to Bajor where her brother cared for her. It was there a friend discovered that she still lived while the Galaxy thought she died. Miran has returned to Starfleet and has resumed her position as Shuttler Operations Officer. She still has no memory of Deiran or her kids and is trying to create a new life for herself.
Miran is short, even for a Bajoran. She wears a Bajoran earring. She owns a pet ferret, Bobbie, who Deiran hates but tolerates because of Miran's love for the creature.
Miran is now married to Deiran Casey, Operations Manager on the USS Galaxy. Captain Price performed the cerimony shortly after returning from "The Void". They have two daughters, Lara and Jade and a son Alexander.
