2373   K'Eytyanna received a reprimand by Captain Price for tampering with the ship's internal sensors in order to conceal the presence of a pet Targ she smuggled on board. K'Eytyanna broke into the ship's computer system, planted her subroutine to ignore Targ life signs, and violated Starfleet protocols in regards to the transport and possession of possibly hostile animals on board a Starship. No reduction of rank was enforced. K'Eytyanna was allowed to keep her Targ after proper arrangements were made to her quarters and the animal was fitted with a tracking collar with an integrated, voice activated restraining device.

2375   K'Eytyanna received a reprimand by Captain Price for parading around the starship in the nude. The Lieutenant Commander's only explanation was that it was a joke on her boy friend at the time.

Background:
K'Eytyanna was born as the result of a Cardassian genetic experiment, prior to the Federation discovery of the Cardassians.

Her human father was a freighter pilot who had retired from Starfleet after a few tours of duty. He had been carried cargo and passengers from a Federation colony to Vulcan, via the Klingon Home world, while her Klingon mother was a passenger departing at Klinzhai. A plasma storm damaged the freighter's navigation systems and it ventured into unknown territory, which belonged to the Cardassians. It was boarded by a warship and taken to Kemptor XI. Using a Bajoran worker in the facility as well, K'Eytyanna was born. The freighter was declared missing, presumed destroyed by Starfleet. During her childhood, the Cardassians used her as a test subject for various experiments that would be outlawed in the Federation.

When the Federation met with the Cardassians, the Cardassian Government decided not to inform the Federation of what they had been doing to Federation citizens. K'Eytyanna was brought up in the facility by all three of her parents, and taught the language, stories and customs of all three cultures. She liked the stories of her father's adventures in Starfleet.

On her tenth birthday, the USS Valiant discovered the Kemptor XI facility. Security officers and marines aboard the Valiant stormed the facility to rescue Federation citizens, which were picked up on the sensors. K'Eytyanna was recovered early on in the rescue mission, but by the time the marines got to her parents, they had been killed by the Cardassians, leaving her an orphan. The Valiant headed to Deep Space Three and dropped her off. A week later, she was sent to a Federation Integration School on Andor, were trained personnel taught her about life in the Federation.

At the age of thirteen, she was sent to the Klinzhai to live with the Klingon house her mother had been a member of, House T'Mok. Once there, the klingon house made sure she made up all the lost time learning how to be a 'real' Klingon, despite her mixed birth. When she was old enough, she managed to convince her uncle that she would be an excellent candidate for the Klingon Defense Forces. She continued through the KDF Academy for a year, despite finding it unlike what she expected. She quit the Academy and using 'borrowed' house identification, set course to Earth to join Starfleet, which sounded much more exciting.

Arriving at Stardock, she was arrested by Federation Security for theft and taken to a Starfleet holding facility in San Francisco. She was released very quickly after an hour when the holding facility received orders from the President's office about holding the niece of the a deep personal friend of the Chancellor of the High Council. A few minutes later, she was enrolling in Starfleet at the Academy Recruitment Office. Due to the incident with the Chancellor, she was immediately accepted in on the basis of her studies with the KDF.

In 2372, K'Eytyanna risked her own life during a Planetary Survival test to rescue a fellow cadet who had become trapped in a cave system, which contained high-level of mineral dust throughout the cave obstructing transporters. For three days, she protected the cadet from the native wildlife until help could arrive. For her bravery, she was given a commendation and bestowed the Grankite Order of Honor, plus two weeks in the Academy Infirmary with severe respiratory damage due to the dust. K'Eytyanna's major areas of expertise are in warp & impulse drive technologies and repairs, weapons systems, communications systems repairs, computer systems, jury-rigging and shuttle piloting. She prefers piloting smaller shuttle-craft and runabouts versus starships, which she strongly insists 'fly like overweight bricks'.

Within a short span of a few month on board the Galaxy, K'Eytyanna had proved her value as a member of the crew, earning her first promotion to Lieutenant junior grade. Less than a year later, in early 2374, K'Eytyanna was again promoted to full Lieutenant. In early 2375, she was again promoted to Lieutenant Commander on board the USS Galaxy.

At the end of the Dominion War in mid 2375, K'Eytyanna was awarded the Starfleet Medal of Valor for courage under fire while serving on Cardassia Prime. At the end of that same year, K'Eytyanna received a second Starfleet Citation for Valor for her part in serving as Captain of the USS Cairns on a mission into the Romulan Neutral zone to apprehend criminals of the Federation as part of Admiral Thomas J. Casey's task force fleet of Akira Starships.

Shortly after receiving her second Starfleet Citation of Valor and returning to the USS Galaxy, K'Eytyanna was promoted to Chief Engineer and Second Officer of the USS Galaxy. The former Chief, Lieutenant Commander David Mercury, had chose to step down as Chief Engineer and took a position as Shuttle Operation Manager on the USS Galaxy. He recommended that K'Eytyanna take over the Engineering department upon his leaving it. In light of her extraordinary performance with Admiral Casey and Commanding the Akira Class starship USS Cairns, Captain Price agreed with David's recommendation.

Within a year, K'Eytyanna decided she didn't like being the Chief Engineer of the Starship *and* Second officer, since she was constantly having to fill in for Commander Casey's duties when he went on away missions. She asked to be removed as second officer and concentrate strictly on being an Engineer.

After a terrible accident, K'Eytanna lost her hearing and decided to leave the USS Galaxy and her position as Chief Engineer.

Personality profile:
She displays a natural affinity for engineering, very good intuition, and a strong streak of stubbornness and determination to finish every task given to her, no matter how difficult, time-consuming or impossible it may seem.

K'Eytyanna trys her hardest to keep within Starfleet regulations, but at times, ignores regulations she may see as constraining and unnecessary, such as paperwork and reports, needing disciplining at times. She gets incredibly frustrated some times and takes out her anger on in-animate items preferably, but may lash out at people when very angry. During these times, it becomes difficult for her to control her emotions.

In unknown or new situations, her Klingon instincts are at full alert and she has difficulty in giving out any trust to others due to her childhood. Despite her three year stay in the Integration School on Andor, she is very distrustful, cautious and close to hostility to anyone who pries into what she believe is her personal life. During her four years at the Academy, her distrust caused her only to make two friendships - with the Academy gardener, Boothby, and a half-Klingon cadet, with whom Starfleet made a mutual agreement for her to leave after her second year and went to join the Maquis. At the time, K'Eytyanna's human and Bajoran sides fought very hard to stop her quitting as well to join the Maquis for revenge against the Cardassians who killed her parents. However, her natural distrust may slip away with enough encouragement.

Due to her lack of friendship, she spends a large amount of her off-duty time training in martial arts or with melee weapons in very challenging simulations or in her quarters and exploring, whether in an alien world on a holodeck, examining Jeffries Tubes or taking long walks when planet-bound.

Special notes:
K'Eytyanna has blue eyes and brown hair. She also wears a set of Bajoran earrings, despite regulations against them and will probably ignore any direct orders about them. A scar caused by a knife wound, as part of a Cardassian experiment, is located on her right shoulder, which she hides and would do anything to hide from others. She refused treatment for it when it was found at the Academy Infirmary and will always refuse to have it removed.

Due to the suffering she received from the Cardassian doctors, she will need to be pushed to visit Sickbay for any reason, save for carrying an injured crewman there. The same reaction goes for counseling and/or telepaths and empaths.

She may need to be eventually escorted off-duty by Security guards when faced with a problem not solved by end of duty shift.

Holds high standing in aikido, judo and various Bajoran & Klingon martial arts. K'Eytyanna also holds a few Academy records for melee combat, to the annoyance of many Security cadets training alongside her.

Probably reaction to anything to do with Cardassia will likely be intensely violent.

Her quarters are decorated sparsely, except for a display of various weapons, including a bat'leth given to her personally by Chancellor Gowron on her fifteenth birthday. At all times, she has her d'k tahg in a sheath at her side, including when she is sleeping.

Recently, K'Eytyanna smuggled aboard a pet targ, D'Akana T'Mok, after her Klingon house was unable to care for him.
