She spent ten years on the Palakari where her parents served as the Chief Science Officer, and the Chief Engineer. In that time, she found a great love for Science, the position that her mother held, and from that day on, she always wanted to join Starfleet.
Her parents died when she was fifteen, when an Orion ship, attacked the Palakari, looted the ship, and left everyone on board for dead. From that day on Sendi has hated Orions.
She was sent to live with her Uncle, Beltri. He didn't want her to join Starfleet, so he sent her to the Andorian Diplomatic Corps. She hated it there. She graduated, near the bottom of the list.
She didn't go home to Beltri. A day after the graduation she shipped out to earth, took the Academy entrance exam, and was accepted into the Academy.
She studied in the field of Science, but also Engineering in her spare time. Life was tough on Sendi, other Cadets would pick on her, and play jokes on her. But she ignored them, and got through her studies, passing in the top of her class.
When she graduated she had not been assigned to a ship. She considered where she wanted to go. At first she wanted to be stationed on Earth, but in the end decided against it, and joined the USS Galaxy.
