Instead of going to College as his parents wished, he went with his uncle to study some wormholes. While he was with his uncle, an unfortunate event happened. His Uncle died from mysterious disease. Matt then flew the ship back to Earth to tell his parents that his Uncle died. Matt then began to learn how to fly a shuttle. At the age of 23 he was already an ace pilot. When he turned 22 his parents were hardly around, either off at space or on space stations. He decided to join Starfleet. To try earn some respect from his Parents.
When Matt turned 22 his father was promoted to Admiral and sent to Earth to look after ship building. Matt was very happy when his father was promoted to Admiral. He decided to try to make Admiral before he turned 46.
When Matt joined Starfleet he went to Starfleet Academy to gain some command experience. While he was at Starfleet Academy he made some friends. Some classmates were jealous of his good grades. Some students liked him because he tried to help them with their class work. He quickly graduated from Starfleet Academy within three years.
Receiving top honors they train him in Command of a starship. Matt tries to keep in contact with his friends and classmates. Matt is happy with his assignment on USS Galaxy. He hopes to visit a Sovereign class vessel someday. Matt now stationed onboard the USS Galaxy.
While Matt is in the Holosuite he makes a baseball program witch he shares with his friends and shipmates. He also spends some of his off duty time studying Klingon History. He writes letters to his parents telling them about his day and to find out how they are doing. He takes a tour of the ship when he has nothing to do at the time.
