Background: Three of Four was a drone assigned to a class-four Borg tactical vessel in 2377. It was at that time she was selected by the Borg Queen to join the crew of the USS Galaxy. It is her sole directive to ensure that the United Federation of Planets adhered to an agreement between Captain Lee Price of the Starship Galaxy and the Collective. This agreement required the Borg to cease all hostilities and from making future incursions in to Federation space for the period of a decade. In exchange they received from the Galaxy crew the means to counteract the Janeway virus and a promise from the Federation to ban the use all metaphasic weaponry supplied by the crew of the USS Voyager.

Three of Four was selected on the basis that she was already familiar with one of the Galaxy's senior staff, Lt. Commander Kent Peterson. She is still linked to the Collective.

Details from Starfleet: Ensign Kathryn Rogers was born in the Alaskan city of Anchorage in 2343. Her results at Starfleet Academy were exemplary and graduated in 2364. She was assigned as a junior science officer to the USS Roosevelt the following year. Ensign Rogers lost her life in 2366 when she was assimilated by a Borg drone. Navigating the Jeffries tubes with a group of Starfleet officers, she was attempting to reach one of the Roosevelt's shuttlebays after their commanding officer gave the order to abandon ship.
